Ube Halaya

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 kg ube
  • 2 cans condensed milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla


  1. Boil ube in a pot. Let cool.
  2. Peel and grate ube; set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a large skillet.
  4. Mix in condensed milk.
  5. Add grated ube and stir for 20-30 minutes.
  6. Pour in evaporated milk and stir until preferred consistency is achieved.
  7. Add vanilla and mix well.
  8. Remove from fire and keep mixing for five more minutes.
